- Download Bybit app from the App Store or Google Play, or go to bybit.com. Create a free account with your email address. Choose a strong password.
- Enable 2FA immediately — go to Account Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Use Google Authenticator. This protects your account from hackers.
- Verify your identity (KYC) — Go to Profile → Verification. Upload your Ugandan National ID (front and back) or passport. Take a selfie. Approval usually takes 10–30 minutes.
- Open P2P trading — Tap "Buy Crypto" at the bottom of the app, then select "P2P Trading." This is where you trade directly with other people.
- Select cryptocurrency — Choose BTC (Bitcoin) or USDT. For beginners, USDT (stablecoin) is easier because its price is stable. Convert to Bitcoin later if you choose.
- Filter by MTN Mobile Money — Tap "All Payment Methods" and select "MTN Mobile Money." Only sellers who accept MoMo will show.

- Confirm payment — Back in Bybit, tap "I have Transferred, Notify Seller." The seller has 15 minutes to confirm receipt and release the crypto.
